Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to try out a head massage oil for a while now. It just sounds so relaxing, and I figured, why not? I went ahead and started looking around for what kind of oil to use. Seems like there are tons of options out there.
First, I checked out some stores online. Walmart had some, like this Arnica Soothing one for about 13 bucks. CVS also had a bunch, mostly from Nature’s Truth, and those were around 8 or 9 dollars. There was a brand called Forest Essentials on Amazon, but I didn’t know how much it costs. Didn’t really grab me, to be honest.
After browsing online, I decided to just go to a store in person. Figured I could see the stuff up close and maybe get a better feel for what I wanted. I ended up at a local store, and yeah, they had a whole section for massage oils.
I spent a good amount of time just looking at all the bottles. There were so many different kinds! Coconut, almond, jojoba, grapeseed…you name it. I remembered reading somewhere that coconut and almond oils are good for moisturizing, and jojoba is better if you have oily hair. Since my hair’s on the drier side, I figured I’d go with something moisturizing.
Finally, I grabbed a bottle of sweet almond oil. It smelled nice and seemed like a safe bet. I paid for it and headed back home, excited to try it out.
Once I got home, I warmed up the oil a little bit by running the bottle under hot water. Then, I sat down and started massaging it into my scalp. I used my fingertips and made little circles, just like I saw in some videos online.
- First, I started at the back of my head.
- Then I moved slowly to the front.
- Tried to be gentle and not use too much pressure.
Honestly, it felt pretty good. I kept at it for about 15 minutes, just enjoying the feeling. After I was done, I wrapped my head in a warm towel for a while to let the oil really soak in. Then I washed my hair like normal.
My Hair Feels Great!
My hair definitely felt softer and more hydrated after using the oil. I think I’ll try to do this more often. It was a nice, relaxing little self-care routine. And you know what, my hair feels great now!
