So, I went swimming the other day. I love swimming, it’s a good exercise, you know? Anyway, after I got out of the pool, my eyes started feeling really weird.
They were all red and itchy, and my vision got a little blurry. It wasn’t fun at all. It felt really dry and uncomfortable. I remembered reading somewhere that this happens a lot after swimming because of the chlorine in the pool water. I started looking for solutions. I looked and looked, but most articles were too professional. I want something simple, and I want it to work!
I found out that using lubricating eye drops is a good idea. Some people online said to use them before and after swimming, but I didn’t put any in before. Too late for that now, I guess.
- First, I washed my hands thoroughly with some soap and water. Gotta keep those germs away.
- Then I gently pulled down my lower eyelid to create a little pocket to put the drops in.
- I tilted my head back, looked up, and squeezed the bottle gently.
- Just one drop in each eye was enough.
- After that, I closed my eyes for a minute or two to let the drops spread around.
I tried it as soon as I noticed my eyes were feeling bad. Usually, eyes tend to recover after getting out of the pool, but mine did not this time. And also, I learned that lubricating eye drops are safe in children. Typically, the artificial tears are applied up to six times a day for comfort. If drops are needed more often.
You know what? It actually worked! After I did all that, my eyes started feeling better pretty quickly. The redness went down, and the itching stopped. My vision cleared up, too. It was such a relief! I’m going to keep some eye drops in my swimming bag from now on, just in case. Better to be prepared, right?
I know I’m not a doctor or anything, but this worked for me, and I just wanted to share my experience in case it helps anyone else who has the same problem after swimming.
