Today, I wanted to do something different and tried out a “tea meal.” It’s not something I usually do, so it was a bit of an adventure. First, I had to figure out what goes into a tea meal.
I started by making some tea. I had some vanilla-flavored black tea bags, which smelled amazing. I boiled some water and let the tea steep for a few minutes. While the tea was brewing, I started thinking about what food to have.
Preparing the Food
From what I remembered, tea meals often include a mix of sweet and savory things. So, I decided to make a few different things:
- Sandwiches: I made some simple sandwiches with ham and cheese. Nothing fancy, just something easy.
- Scones: I found a simple recipe online for scones. They were surprisingly easy to make. I baked them until they were golden brown and served them with some store-bought jam and cream.
- Cookies: I had some butter cookies and oatmeal cookies in the pantry, so I put those on a plate.
- Muffins: I also baked some blueberry muffins. They turned out pretty good, even if I do say so myself.
Setting Up
Once everything was ready, I set the table. I didn’t have a fancy three-tiered stand, but I arranged everything on plates and made it look as nice as I could. I poured the tea into cups and added a bit of milk and sugar to mine.
Enjoying the Tea Meal
Finally, it was time to eat! I started with the sandwiches, then tried the scones with jam and cream. They were delicious! The cookies and muffins were also great with the tea. The vanilla flavor of the tea went really well with everything.
It was a fun and relaxing meal. I enjoyed trying something new and taking the time to prepare and enjoy the food. It felt like a nice break from my usual routine. I might do this again sometime, maybe with different types of tea and food. It’s a nice way to spend an afternoon!
