I had an idea today, a thought that I just needed to make happen. What if I colored noodles with dye? It sounds weird, I know, but I just had to find out. I’ve been thinking a lot about food lately, and this seemed like a fun little experiment.
Getting Started
First, I grabbed a pot and filled it with water. Then, I dumped in some regular old spaghetti noodles. While those were cooking, I pulled out some food coloring. I had a bunch of different colors, but I decided to start with blue. Just seemed like a good noodle color, you know?
Dyeing the Noodles
- I added a few drops of the blue food coloring into a separate bowl.
- Once the noodles were done, I drained them and rinsed them with cold water.
- Then, I tossed the noodles into the bowl with the food coloring.
I stirred it all around, making sure every single noodle got coated in that blue dye. It looked pretty cool, I gotta say. Like something out of a cartoon or something. I let them sit for a minute to really soak up the color.
Final Touches
After that, I rinsed the noodles again to get rid of any excess dye. I was a little worried they’d turn my mouth blue, but it seemed to wash off okay. I plated them up, and they looked… well, they looked blue. Definitely blue.
I tried a bite, and they tasted… like noodles. Just regular old noodles, but blue. It didn’t really change the flavor, which was kind of what I expected. But it was definitely a fun little experiment. Now I’m thinking about what other colors I could try. Maybe green? Or pink? The possibilities are endless!
