Okay, so, my nose has always been a bit of a trouble spot. It’s just constantly shiny, you know? And it’s not that cute, dewy shine. It’s more like, “I could fry an egg on my face” shine. Super annoying. I finally decided to get to the bottom of this, and I figured I’d share my little journey with you guys.
First thing I did was to try to notice what triggered it. I started to use blotting papers whenever I saw it getting greasy, and I would grab them, like, all the time, which was a bit embarrassing, to be honest. But hey, it was all in the name of research, right? After blotting, I’d wash my face with a super gentle cleanser. I was hoping to keep the oil at bay. It helped a bit, but the shine always came back.
Then, I stumbled upon this tip about sunblock. The idea was to use it instead of my usual moisturizer. Apparently, it can help prevent clogged pores, which might contribute to the oiliness. So, I switched things up and gave it a shot. It felt a little weird at first, not using my regular cream, but I got used to it.
The next thing on my list was face wash. I read somewhere that salicylic acid is good for oily skin. So, I went out and bought a face wash with that ingredient. I started using it every day, hoping for a miracle.
Finally, I decided to try retinol. I heard that it can regulate oil production. I found a strong retinol night cream and added it to my routine. I figured it was worth a try, especially since I was already using a bunch of other products.
- Used blotting papers to remove excess oil.
- Washed face with a gentle cleanser.
- Swapped moisturizer for sunblock.
- Started using a salicylic acid face wash.
- Incorporated a retinol night cream.
My routine:
Honestly, it took some time, and I had to be really consistent with my routine. But slowly but surely, I started to see a difference. My nose wasn’t as shiny anymore. It was still a little oily, but definitely not as bad as before. I think the combination of all these things really helped. Now, I am still doing this, but I can say I see huge improvements.
So, yeah, that’s my oily nose saga. It was a bit of a process, but I’m glad I finally figured out how to manage it. Hope this helps someone out there dealing with the same issue!
