Okay, so, I’ve been seeing this thing going around online about aloe vera and whether it helps your tan last longer. Sounds kinda cool, right? I’m always up for trying things that might make my summer glow stick around a bit more. So, I thought, why not put it to the test?
First, I went and got a decent tan. Not too crazy, just a nice, healthy-looking bronze. You know, the kind you get from spending a good amount of time chilling by the pool or at the beach. Once I had my tan, I started my little experiment.
I decided to split my body into two halves, kinda like a science project. On one side, I just used my regular moisturizer, nothing fancy. On the other side, I used pure aloe vera gel. I made sure to apply them both at the same time, usually after my shower, and I did this every day.
Here’s what I noticed:
- The aloe vera side definitely felt more hydrated. Like, way more. My skin felt super soft and smooth.
- The regular moisturizer side felt okay, but it didn’t have that same extra level of hydration.
- Now, for the big question: did the aloe vera make my tan last longer? Honestly, it’s hard to say for sure. I think there might have been a slight difference, with the aloe vera side maybe holding onto the color a little bit better. But it wasn’t a huge, noticeable difference.
I kept this up for a few weeks, just to see what would happen. The aloe vera side stayed feeling really hydrated, which was great. And my tan did seem to fade a bit more slowly on that side, but again, it wasn’t a super dramatic difference.
So, what’s the verdict? Well, I wouldn’t say aloe vera is a miracle tan extender. But, it’s definitely amazing for keeping your skin hydrated and healthy. And that hydration might just help your tan stick around a little longer. Plus, it just feels really good on your skin, especially after a day in the sun. I might not be a scientist, but from my little experiment, I’d say give it a try! It’s worth it for the hydration alone.
I am not making any guarantees about the tan. It is more like aloe vera just makes your skin feel good and is good for your skin, and maybe it will make your tan last a little longer. You’ll just have to try it for yourself! And it feels great in the summer after a shower. Super refreshing, you know?
The aloe vera gel I used was one of those that are nearly 100% pure, with no added fragrances or other things. The more you know!
