Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little experiments. Today, we’re diving into the world of skincare, specifically, olive oil face masks. Yeah, you heard that right, olive oil! It’s not just for salads anymore, folks. So, let’s get into it.
First off, I gotta say, I was a bit skeptical. I mean, olive oil on my face? Sounds kind of greasy, right? But I’d heard some good things and figured, why not give it a shot? My skin’s been feeling a bit dry lately, so I thought this could be a good way to add some moisture back in.
I started by gathering my ingredients. Now, I didn’t want to just slap straight olive oil on my face. I mixed in a few other things to make it more of a mask. I grabbed some honey—heard it’s good for the skin—and a little bit of egg white. Some people use ground oats, but I didn’t have any on hand. I just whisked these together in a bowl until it looked like something I’d actually put on my face.
Next, time to apply. I washed my face first to make sure it was all clean and ready to soak up the goodness. Then, I slathered on my concoction. It felt kinda weird, I’m not gonna lie. A little sticky from the honey, but not too bad. I set a timer for 10 minutes, as I read that’s a good amount of time to let it sit.
- Wait time: 10 minutes. I just chilled and scrolled through my phone.
When the timer went off, I hopped back in the bathroom to rinse it off. I used warm water, like the instructions said. It came off pretty easily, which was nice. And I gotta say, my skin felt pretty darn soft afterward. Like, surprisingly soft. It didn’t feel oily at all, which was a relief.
My final thoughts?
I’m actually pretty impressed. I didn’t expect to like it as much as I did. My skin felt hydrated and smooth, and it even had a bit of a glow to it. I might just add this to my weekly routine. I’ve read that you can even leave olive oil on your skin overnight. I am not sure about that, but who knows, maybe I will try and then share my experience with you guys!
So, if you’re looking for a natural way to moisturize your skin, give this olive oil mask a try. It’s cheap, it’s easy, and it might just surprise you. Let me know in the comments if you’ve tried this before or if you have any other DIY skincare tips. Catch you in the next one!
