Okay, so I’ve been seeing these honey peel-off face masks all over the internet and I got super curious. I mean, who doesn’t want that glowing, smooth skin, right? So, I decided to give it a shot and make my own at home. Here’s how it went down.
First, I gathered my stuff. I grabbed some honey from my kitchen, I think any kind will do. I also found some baking soda, and some lemons my mom had lying around the house. Oh, and I used bentonite clay as well, I read somewhere online that clay works fine. I didn’t have a measuring spoon, so I just eyeballed everything.
Mixing
I started by scooping a spoonful of honey into a small bowl. Then, I added like half a spoon of baking soda and bentonite clay. Squeezed in some lemon juice, maybe a quarter of a lemon? I just wanted it to be all-natural, you know? I mixed it all together with a spoon until it formed a gooey paste. It looked a bit like mud, but hey, that’s cool, right?
Applying
I washed my face with my usual cleanser to get it clean and ready. Then, I took the honey mixture and started smearing it all over my face. It felt really sticky and cold, which was kinda nice in a weird way. I avoided my eyes and mouth, obviously, and made sure to get a good, even layer.
Waiting
Now came the waiting part. I set a timer for 15 minutes, just like I saw in some videos. It felt so weird, like my face was all hardened. I tried not to move too much because I was worried it would crack or something. I just chilled on the couch and watched some TV while I waited.
Peeling
Once the timer went off, I went to the bathroom to check it out. It was definitely dry and tight. I started peeling it off slowly, starting from the edges. It felt a little bit tingly, but not in a bad way. Some parts were harder to peel than others, especially around my nose. But, overall, it came off pretty easily.
Rinsing
After I got most of the mask off, I rinsed my face with warm water to get rid of any leftover sticky bits. I used my fingers to gently massage my skin in circles, which felt really nice and relaxing, I might add.
Results
Okay, so my face felt incredibly soft and smooth after rinsing. I mean, like baby-butt smooth! It also looked a bit brighter, which was a nice bonus. I didn’t notice any major changes, but I’m guessing you have to do this regularly to see real results.
All in all, it was a fun little experiment. My skin felt amazing afterward, and it was super cheap and easy to make. I’d definitely do it again. Maybe next time I’ll add some essential oils or something to make it even fancier. We’ll see!
- Would I do it again? Absolutely.
- Was it worth it? For sure.
- Did my skin feel great? You bet!
Hope this helps anyone who’s thinking about trying a honey face mask. It’s a fun little DIY project, and your skin will thank you for it! Just go for it!
