Well now, let’s talk about this here treadmill outdoor thing. What is it anyway? Sounds fancy, but I reckon it just means walkin’ or runnin’, but with a machine, right? Or maybe takin’ that machine outside? Lord knows, I’ve done enough walkin’ in my life, fields and all. But these young folks, they got their ways.
I heard tell of this “12-3-30” thing. Sounds like a bunch of numbers to me, but this young gal, Lauren somethin’, she says it’s the way to go. Twelve incline, that’s like walkin’ uphill, I guess. Three miles an hour, that ain’t too fast. Thirty minutes, well, that’s a good chunk of time. Folks say it ain’t as easy as it sounds. They huffin’ and puffin’, just like I do after chasin’ them chickens!
Now, whether you been runnin’ since you was a sprout or just want to get yourself a little less… well, you know… big, this here treadmill thing might be for you. Or maybe just walkin’ outside is good enough. I always say, fresh air is good for the soul, and the body too, I reckon. My old bones sure do feel better after a stroll in the garden.
- You can use that treadmill thing inside, sure.
- But you can also walk and run outside, same as always.
- And there’s them other machines too, the ones that look like you’re pedalin’ a bike but not goin’ nowhere, and those ones that make you move like you’re on a swing set. All sorts of contraptions these days.
They say these quick workouts on the treadmill, or even outside, can get you where you want to be. Fit as a fiddle, they say. Me, I just want to be able to keep up with them grandkids. They’re like little whirlwinds, them ones.
I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I heard some folks talkin’. If you’re gonna use that there treadmill, you gotta make it somethin’ you can stand. Don’t go jumpin’ on it and runnin’ like the devil’s chasin’ you. Start slow, build yourself up. Same as plantin’ a garden, you don’t just throw seeds on the ground and expect a feast the next day. Gotta water it, tend to it, give it time.
And there ain’t just one way to do this “treadmill workout” thing. It’s like makin’ a stew. Some folks like it spicy, some like it mild. Some like lots of potatoes, some like more meat. You gotta find what works for you. This treadmill thing, it’s the same. Find what feels right, what gets you movin’ and groovin’, but not too much groovin’ that you fall off the thing!
Treadmills, they say, are good for learnin’ to run. Whether you’re just startin’ or been runnin’ since you was knee-high to a grasshopper. Me, I never needed no machine to learn to run. Had to run from them ornery cows plenty of times! But I guess these city folk, they need a little help.
If you wanna get faster, you gotta run faster, that’s what I always say. And that there treadmill, it can help you with that. It’s got all them buttons and numbers and whatnot. You can make it go fast, make it go slow, make it go uphill. It’s like havin’ your own personal hill right there in your house.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this here treadmill outdoor thing. Whether you’re inside on a machine or outside in the sunshine, just get yourself movin’. That’s the important thing. And don’t forget to drink your water, just like I tell them grandkids. Keeps you from dryin’ up like an old prune.
Remember, start slow, find what you like, and don’t push yourself too hard. And if all else fails, just go for a good old-fashioned walk outside. That’s what I always say.
And one last thing, don’t forget to wipe that sweat off your brow. Ain’t nobody wants to see that!
