Alright, let’s yak about this hair stuff, this… uh… natural hair colour shampoo thing, right?
My old noggin, it’s seen a heap of years, and let me tell ya, hair ain’t what it used to be. Used to be thick and black as a crow, now? Well, let’s just say it’s more like a faded old quilt. But I ain’t one for them fancy salon things, all that dye and chemicals, no sir. Makes my head itch just thinkin’ about it.
So, this here shampoo, the one they say is “natural”… hmm, sounds kinda like somethin’ my grandma woulda cooked up in the kitchen. She knew her herbs, that one did. Said somethin’ once about Aloe Vera bein’ good for the skin, maybe it’s good for the hair too? Wouldn’t surprise me none. That Aloe Vera, I hear it’s good for all sorts of things. Healin’ and such.
- But what’s all this talk about “color-depositing” shampoo? Sounds mighty complicated. All I want is to get some life back into this mop of mine, not learn a new language.
- And quinoa? Quinoa! That’s somethin’ you eat, ain’t it? Now they puttin’ it in shampoo? Well, I’ll be… They say it keeps the color lookin’ good, “vibrant” they call it. For longer. I dunno, sounds like fancy talk to me.
Now, if I’m gonna use somethin’ on my head, it better be safe. My scalp, it’s kinda sensitive, you know? Don’t want no harsh stuff burnin’ me up. Heard tell them regular shampoos got all sorts of things in ’em, things you can’t even pronounce. That’s why this “natural” thing sounds good, like it ain’t gonna cause no trouble.
They say shampoos for colored hair, they got oils and things, “antioxidants” they call ‘em. And somethin’ about “UV filters”? Like sunscreen for your hair? Never heard of such a thing! But I guess if you’re gonna spend good money on gettin’ your hair colored, you wanna keep it lookin’ nice for as long as you can, right? So maybe these things ain’t so bad after all.
But here’s the thing. I ain’t lookin’ for some crazy bright color, just want to cover up these grays a bit, make it look like I still got some life left in me, you know? They say if your hair is already kinda light, this shampoo can give it a little “tint”. A little “kiss of color” they called it. Sounds nice enough, I reckon.
Now, I heard about somethin’ called henna. Henna, that’s been around forever, ain’t it? My grandma used to use it, said it was the most natural thing you could put on your hair. No chemicals, nothin’ to make your scalp go crazy. And it makes your hair soft, too. That’s what she said, anyway. Maybe this “natural” shampoo is somethin’ like that? Just good stuff from the earth, nothin’ made in some factory somewhere.
They also say some shampoos are safe enough to use all the time, even if your hair ain’t colored. That’s good, I guess. Means it ain’t gonna dry your hair out like some of them other things. But they also say if you want your color to last, you gotta use special shampoo for colored hair. It’s all a bit confusing, if you ask me. Too much choice, these days.
So, this natural hair color shampoo… is it worth a try? I guess it depends on what you’re lookin’ for. If you want a little bit of color without all the fuss and chemicals, it might be just the ticket. But if you’re expectin’ miracles, well, you might be disappointed. Hair’s hair, after all. It ain’t gonna stay young forever, no matter what you do. But maybe, just maybe, this shampoo can help it look a little bit better, a little bit more… alive. And that’s good enough for me, I reckon.
And if it don’t work? Well, there’s always hats! But I’ll give this natural stuff a shot first. Nothin’ to lose, right?
