Today, I wanna talk about that scrambled eggs and avocado. My grandbaby, he loves this stuff. Says it’s good for you. Me? I just like the taste. And it ain’t too hard to make, which is good for these old bones.
First, you gotta get them eggs. We used to have chickens, fresh eggs every day. Now, gotta go to the store. Get a dozen, maybe. Don’t matter how many, long as you got enough for everybody.
- Crack them eggs
- Get some milk or cream
- Salt and pepper
- Butter
You crack them eggs into a bowl. I always use a big one, ’cause I’m clumsy. Then you pour in some milk, or cream, whatever you got. Not too much, just a splash. Then you gotta beat it. Beat it good, like you’re mad at it. My grandbaby, he uses one of them fancy whisks. I just use a fork. Works just the same.
Then, you need some salt and pepper. Just a pinch of each. Don’t go crazy with the salt, ain’t good for your blood pressure. Pepper, though, I like a lot of pepper. Gives it a kick.
Now, the avocado. That’s the green thing. Used to be, we never saw these things around here. Now they’re everywhere. They’re good, though. Soft, like butter. You gotta cut ’em in half, take out that big ol’ pit in the middle. Then scoop out the green part with a spoon.
Next up is the butter! I love butter. Makes everything taste better. You need a good chunk of butter for your pan. Melt it down, make sure it’s all bubbly. Don’t burn it, though! Burnt butter tastes nasty.
Pour them eggs into the pan with the melted butter, low heat, you hear? Scrambled eggs ain’t supposed to be hard and brown. You want ’em soft, like clouds. So you gotta keep stirring ’em, real slow. Don’t let ’em stick to the pan.
Some folks like to add cheese to their scrambled eggs. That’s fine, too. Me? I like ’em plain. But you do you. Cheese makes everything better, they say.
Once them eggs are cooked, just how you like ’em, you gotta get ’em on a plate. Then you take that avocado you scooped out earlier and put it right on top. Or on the side, whichever way you want. Some people mash up the avocado first, like guacamole. That’s good too, but you need those limes for guacamole, and some red onion and such.
Some folks, they like to put the scrambled eggs inside the avocado. Like a little boat. That’s cute, I guess. My grandbaby, he does that sometimes. Says it’s fancy.
Then you can eat it. Just like that. It’s good for breakfast, or lunch, or even dinner. I like it any time of day. It fills you up, keeps you going. It’s a good, simple meal. This meal is good for breakfast, you see?
You can put it on toast, too. Toast is good with anything. Especially butter. But this scrambled eggs and avocado, it don’t really need anything else. It’s good all by itself. My grandbaby says this is a healthy meal, got all them vitamins and such.
This scrambled eggs, they’re easy to chew, too. Good for old folks like me, who don’t have all their teeth anymore. This is very important for us, you know.
This avocado is good for you, too. They say it’s got good fats. Whatever that means. All I know is, it tastes good. And it’s good for you. So eat up!
So there you have it. Scrambled eggs and avocado. A good, simple meal. Easy to make, easy to eat. And good for you, too. What more could you ask for? Hope you like it. I know I do. And my grandbaby, he loves it. So it must be good!
You can make a big batch of these scrambled eggs, too. Good for a crowd. If you got a lot of mouths to feed, just get more eggs. And more avocados. It’s easy to make more. Just use a bigger pan.
Alright, that’s all I got to say about that. Go on and try it. See if you like it. I bet you will. It’s a good, honest meal. Nothing fancy, just good food.
