Okay, so, being pregnant, right? It’s a wild ride, and my hair decided to join the party in the weirdest way possible. It became so dry! I started noticing it around the second trimester.
I touched my hair one morning, and it felt like straw. Seriously, like a scarecrow’s head. I tried to brush it, and it was just a big mess of tangles. So first I just tried to wash it more often, didn’t work.
Then I thought, maybe it’s my shampoo and conditioner? They were just regular ones, nothing fancy. I did some research and found out that during pregnancy, you might want to switch to special stuff, you know, without the harsh chemicals. So I went to the store and found this line called, uh, Sensitive Xclusive from IdHAIR. They said it’s gentle and good for your scalp.
I started using that, and honestly, it helped a bit. My hair didn’t feel as rough, but it was still pretty dry. I tried the TRESemm Keratin Smooth Weightless Conditioner, too. I read online that the Keratin could help with frizz, and boy, did I have frizz! This one was good, too, made my hair a bit smoother.
I also tried to avoid using my hair dryer too much. I mean, I love styling my hair, but heat just makes dry hair worse. So, I started letting my hair air dry more often. It took longer, yeah, but my hair felt a little better afterward.
Diet Changes to Combat Dry Hair
- Eat more protein and iron: I added more lean meats, beans, and leafy greens to my diet.
- Load up on vitamins: I made sure I was getting enough vitamin A and C, so I ate more carrots, sweet potatoes, and oranges.
After a few weeks of doing all this, my hair started to feel a bit more normal. It wasn’t perfect, but it wasn’t a tangled, dry mess anymore. I could actually run my fingers through it without getting stuck!
So, yeah, pregnancy did some weird things to my hair, but I managed to get it somewhat under control. It’s all about being gentle, using the right products, and, you know, not blasting it with heat all the time. Also don’t forget to eat right.
