Okay, so, let me tell you about my little experiment with oiling my thin hair. I’ve always had fine, kinda limp hair, and I’ve heard all these things about how oiling can work wonders. I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I picked an oil. I went with rosemary oil because I read somewhere that it’s good for hair growth, and I’m kinda interested in it. I mean, who doesn’t want thicker hair, right? I just got a simple rosemary oil from a regular store.
Then, I started oiling my hair. I did not know how to do, I just put some drops on my fingertips and start massaging my scalp. At first, I did it once a week, usually on a Sunday night so I could wash it out the next morning before work. It felt kinda weird and greasy at first, but I got used to it. I massaged it for like 5-10 minutes, trying to cover my whole scalp. And I used my fingers to spread it all over my hair. Then I would braid my hair and cover it in a shower cap.
I kept this up for about a month and a half. Honestly, I was kinda excited to see if it would make a big difference. Some people online swear by it, saying it makes their hair super healthy and shiny. I was hopeful, you know?
But here’s the thing—I didn’t really notice a huge change. Maybe a little bit of shine, but nothing drastic. And sometimes, I felt like it made my hair look even flatter and greasier, which is like, the opposite of what I wanted. I know some folks say it takes time, but I expected at least a little something by then, maybe my hair is just different, I don’t know.
- Week 1: Tried oiling for the first time. Hair felt greasy, but washed it out.
- Week 2: Continued oiling. Still not sure about it.
- Week 3: Kept at it. Hair is a bit shiny, maybe?
- Week 4: Started to feel like it’s weighing my hair down.
- Week 5 & 6: No big changes. I’m getting kinda tired of the greasy feeling.
So, yeah, that’s my story about oiling thin hair. It wasn’t a total fail, but it wasn’t a miracle cure either. Maybe it works better for other people, but for me, I think I’ll stick to my regular routine for now. I might try a different oil in the future, or maybe just use it once in a while, like a special treat, who knows? But for now, I’m not fully convinced it’s a game-changer for my thin hair.
