Okay, so I tried to figure out how to soak sabudana quickly ’cause I was craving some good ol’ sabudana khichdi. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey.
First off, I grabbed the sabudana pearls and dumped them into a bowl. I remembered someone saying you gotta rinse them, so I did just that. I ran some cold water over them and swished them around with my hands for a couple of minutes.
- I used my hands to give them a good scrub, just like washing rice.
- After rinsing, I drained the water and filled the bowl again, making sure the water level was just above the sabudana.
I was impatient, you know, so I started experimenting with how to speed things up. Usually, people soak it overnight, but who has time for that, right?
What I found that worked
Then, I tried some tips. Actually, I found that after 30 minutes, they were kinda soft but still had that hard center. I kept checking every 15 minutes or so, pressing a pearl between my fingers to see if it was soft all the way through.
Finally, after about an hour, they were good to go! Soft, fluffy, and ready for my khichdi. I was so happy. It’s not as quick as I’d like, but hey, it’s way faster than overnight, and I make it!
So, that’s my story of soaking sabudana. It was a bit of trial and error, but I figured it out in the end. Now I can satisfy my khichdi cravings without waiting forever!
