Okay, so today I wanted to try out this “low jacks exercise” thing. I’ve been seeing it all over the place, and honestly, I’m trying to get a bit more active without, you know, killing myself. My knees aren’t what they used to be. So, low impact is the name of the game for me.
First, I just looked up what the heck “low jacks” even are. Turns out, they’re like jumping jacks but way easier on the joints. No jumping! Instead of jumping up and down, I just stepped side to side and I feel I was still working my butt off.
- Step 1: I started by standing with my feet together and my arms down by my sides. Easy enough, right?
- Step 2: Then, I stepped my right foot out to the side while raising both arms out to the sides, like a regular jumping jack. I kept my arms a little bent, which felt more natural.
- Step 3: Brought my right foot back to the center and my arms back down.
- Step 4: Repeated the same thing on the left side. Stepped the left foot out, arms up, then back to center.
I did this for about a minute just to get the hang of it, and I could actually feel it in my legs and even my shoulders a little. I try to imagine myself as a professional exerciser.
Then, I put on some music, which always helps, and did three sets of 10 reps on each side. I took short breaks in between each set, maybe 30 seconds or so, just enough to catch my breath. It took a lot of time but it was really good for my body.
Honestly, it was pretty good! I felt like I got a decent little workout in without feeling like I was going to collapse. And my heart rate definitely went up a bit, which is the whole point, I guess. The best part is that I felt no pain at all in my knees. It was just perfect for me.
My final thoughts today
I think I’ll keep doing these low jacks. They seem like a good way to get moving without overdoing it. Maybe I’ll try to work my way up to more reps or longer sets eventually. We’ll see. For now, I’m just happy I found something that works for me. I hope I can hold on to the end. Bye!
