So, I noticed something weird with my nails the other day. I’m a big fan of painting my nails, you know, trying out different colors and stuff. But lately, I’ve been seeing that my clear nail polish is turning, like, yellowish. It’s not a good look, honestly.
At first, I thought maybe it was just the brand I was using. I’ve switched brands a few times, but the problem kept happening. Then, I started to freak out a little because I remembered reading somewhere that yellow nails could mean a fungus. Yikes!
- Checked for fungus: I examined my nails like a hawk, looking for any signs of that nasty stuff. Thankfully, no fungus. Phew!
- Experimented with removal: I tried using nail polish remover more often, hoping it would get rid of the yellow tint. It helped a little, but the yellow was still there.
I even tried that trick where you put a bit of purple polish into the clear coat. I saw someone mention it could act like a “toner” for your nails. I figured, why not give it a shot? It did seem to tone down the yellow a little bit, but it wasn’t a perfect fix. I guess I’ll be doing that purple polish thing for a while.
I’m going to keep using cuticle oil like crazy. Someone told me that keeping your nails hydrated can help. And I’m definitely going to be more careful about the dark polishes I use. It seems like those are the main culprits, especially the super bright ones.
If this yellowing doesn’t get better in, say, ten days to two weeks, I’m going to see a doctor. Just to be safe. It’s probably nothing serious, but you never know. I’ll keep you guys updated!
