Okay, so, I had this idea to do something fun and creative, turning a regular watermelon into a mask. Yeah, a mask! It sounded cool in my head, so I went for it. I grabbed a big watermelon from the store and brought it home.
First thing I did was wash the watermelon. Got to make sure it’s clean, right? Then, I started thinking about what design I wanted on my mask. I’ve seen those heart-eyes emojis and thought that would look neat, so I decided to go with that.
I took a kitchen knife and carefully cut the watermelon in half. It was a bit messy, but I managed. Then came the fun part – scooping out the inside with a melon baller. I made sure to leave a thick enough rind so the mask wouldn’t be too flimsy. Scoop, scoop, scoop, until it was all hollowed out.
Next, I sketched the heart-eyes on the rind with a marker. It didn’t have to be perfect, just a guide for cutting. With my trusty kitchen knife, I slowly carved out the eyes and mouth. I had to be really patient here, making sure not to cut all the way through in the wrong places.
- Wash the watermelon
- Cut in half
- Scoop out the inside
- Sketch the design
- Carve the design
Once the carving was done, I tried the mask on. It was a bit heavy and drippy, but hey, it worked! It looked pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I also thought about other designs you could do – maybe a funny face or even a spooky one for Halloween.
Other Ideas
While I was at it, I thought, why not try some skincare stuff too? I mixed a teaspoon of turmeric powder with a couple of tablespoons of yogurt. I heard it’s good for your skin. It felt weird putting it on, but I left it for like 10 minutes. After rinsing it off, my skin did feel a bit softer, not sure if it looked any different though. And if you wanna get fancy, you can blend a cucumber with some aloe vera gel, and use that as a natural mask.
So yeah, that’s how I made a watermelon mask. It was a fun little project, and I ended up with a unique mask and some DIY skincare recipes. Not bad for a day’s work!
