Okay, so, I’ve been trying out this whole knee whitening thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a journey. My knees were, like, way darker than the rest of my legs. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it kinda bugged me, you know? So, I decided to do something about it.
First, I hit up the internet, just browsing around, seeing what’s up. Found some stuff about using exfoliating toners. I saw this one, The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner. It’s got 7% Glycolic Acid, whatever that means. Sounded legit, so I grabbed one.
Trying Out The Ordinary Toner
I started using this toner every night. I’d just splash some on a cotton pad and rub it on my knees. It felt kinda tingly, but not in a bad way. More like it was actually doing something, you know?
- Used it every night.
- Put it on with a cotton pad.
- Felt a bit tingly.
Looking For Something More
After a few weeks, I noticed a little bit of a difference. My knees were a tad lighter, but not by much. I figured I needed something stronger. So, I went back to the internet. I wanted to check out some actual whitening creams and went to eBay.
I found this cream called Muggu Skincare Whitening Cream. It said it was specifically for elbows, knees, and dark underarms, so it seemed like a good fit. Plus, it had niacinamide, which I’d heard good things about. So I bought it and started using it along with the toner.
The Routine
Here’s what my routine looked like:
- Morning: Wash my knees in the shower like normal.
- Night: Use The Ordinary toner first, let it dry, then put on the Muggu cream.
I kept this up for a good month. Honestly, it was kind of a pain to remember to do it every day, but I stuck with it. I really wanted to see if this would work.
Did It Actually Work?
Okay, so, after a month of this whole toner and cream routine, I gotta say, my knees are definitely lighter. Like, noticeably lighter. They’re not, like, perfectly matching the rest of my skin yet, but it’s a big improvement. And apparently, the vitamin C also helps lighten skin by reducing melanin production, by inhibiting tyrosinase or something. I guess that’s a good thing. It was a lot of work, and I almost gave up a couple times, but I kept going, and it paid off.
I’m gonna keep using the cream for a bit longer, see if I can get them even lighter. But yeah, if you’ve got dark knees and it bothers you, it’s totally possible to lighten them up. Just be prepared to put in some work and be patient. It definitely doesn’t happen overnight!
