Okay, guys, let’s talk about Karela, also known as bitter gourd. This veggie might not be everyone’s favorite, but I wanted to try it because I read it helps with weight management. So, I thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
First, I went to the grocery store and got myself some fresh Karela. They looked kinda weird, all bumpy and green. I also grabbed some Jamun because I saw some stuff online saying that Karela and Jamun juice together is even better.
Here’s what I did:
- Washing: I gave the Karela a good wash under running water.
- Chopping: Then, I chopped them up into smaller pieces. I didn’t peel them because I heard the skin has lots of good stuff.
- Blending: I tossed the Karela pieces into my blender. For the Jamun, I just used some store-bought juice ’cause I couldn’t find fresh ones.
- Mixing: I added a little water to the blender and blended everything until it was smooth. It looked pretty green and, honestly, a bit unappetizing.
- Straining: I poured the mixture through a strainer to remove any big chunks. The first time, it tasted super bitter! I added a pinch of salt, a squeeze of lemon, and some honey to make it more drinkable.
I started drinking this Karela-Jamun juice every morning on an empty stomach. I read it’s best to have it that way. The taste was something to get used to, no doubt. It was bitter, even with the added stuff. But I stuck with it.
My Experience
After a few weeks, I did feel a bit lighter, and my digestion seemed better. I wasn’t as bloated as before. I also noticed I wasn’t craving snacks as much. Maybe it was the juice filling me up, or perhaps it was actually doing something to my metabolism. I’m not sure, but I felt better overall.
I kept drinking the juice for about 40 days, just like some study on mice mentioned. I didn’t really keep track of my weight, but my clothes felt a little looser, and I had more energy throughout the day.
Would I recommend it? If you’re looking for a natural way to support your weight management journey, I’d say give Karela juice a try. Just be prepared for the bitter taste! It’s not a magic potion, but it might help along with a healthy diet and exercise. It’s a really simple addition to your routine, and it might just make a difference.
