Man, I hate sweating. Seriously, it’s the worst. I remember this one time, it was a hot summer day, and I decided to go for a run. I mean, who doesn’t want to get some exercise and enjoy the sunshine, right? So, I started my jog, feeling good, feeling strong.
But then, it started. A little drip here, a little drip there. Before I knew it, I was drenched. We’re talking full-on, head-to-toe, sweat-soaked mess. I must have looked like I just jumped into a pool with all my clothes on. I felt sticky, icky, and just gross.
- First, it was just a little perspiration on my forehead. Thought nothing of it.
- Then my shirt started to get damp. Still, I pushed on.
- Suddenly, it felt like someone turned on a faucet. I was totally sweating.
I ended up cutting my run short. There was no way I was going to continue looking and feeling like that. I rushed back home and jumped straight into a cold shower. I am not sure, but it seems to be something to do with our bodies trying to cool down. It is necessary, as I know from some articles. It also mentioned that some people have something called hyperhidrosis. They sweat a lot! And without any clear reason!
The worst part is, it’s not just when I exercise. Sometimes, I’ll just be sitting there, minding my own business, and I’ll start to sweat. It’s like my body just randomly decides, “Hey, you know what would be fun? Let’s turn up the heat and make him sweat for no reason!”
The Solution (maybe?)
I’ve tried everything to deal with this. Antiperspirants, special fabrics, you name it. Some things work a little, but nothing really stops it completely. I guess it’s just something I have to live with. It is normal, as they say, when you are hot or do some exercise.
Although there are other reasons. Like drinking alcohol. Or just because of the warm environment. I learned a new word from what I read – ‘idiopathic hyperhidrosis’. That is, people sweat even without heat. Maybe I should stop drinking! Or turn on the AC earlier at night.
Anyway, if anyone else out there is a fellow member of the “I Sweat Like a Waterfall” club, just know you’re not alone. And hey, at least we’re well-hydrated, right? It can be annoying, as I read on some websites, but it is healthy.
