Alright, so, I gave birth a while back, and let me tell you, it was rough. But what really got me was the pain in my tailbone afterward. I mean, I expected some discomfort, but this was something else. It hurt to sit, it hurt to stand, it even hurt to lie down sometimes. I was like, “What is going on down there?”
So, I started to do some digging. Turns out, tailbone pain after birth is a real thing. Who knew, right? Apparently, during pregnancy and labor, your body goes through some serious changes, and your tailbone can take a beating.
What I did about it
-
First, I tried to be a tough guy and just deal with it. Bad idea. The pain wasn’t going anywhere. So, I decided to get serious.
-
I remembered my mom always saying ice is nice. So, I grabbed an ice pack and put it on my tailbone for a while. Then, I switched to a heating pad. I kept alternating between the two, and honestly, it did help a bit.
-
Next, I hit up the drugstore. I picked up some Tylenol, hoping it would take the edge off. I made sure to check with my doctor first, of course. Safety first, you know?
-
I also tried to avoid sitting for too long. Which, let me tell you, is hard when you have a newborn. But I made an effort to get up and move around as much as I could.
It took some time, but slowly but surely, the pain started to fade. It wasn’t an overnight fix, but with a little patience and some TLC, I got back to feeling like myself again. So, if you’re dealing with tailbone pain after birth, hang in there. It does get better. Just remember to take care of yourself and don’t be afraid to ask for help. You got this, mama!
