Okay, here is my sharing about how to maintain straight natural hair.
So, I’ve been trying to keep my hair straight and natural for a while now, and it’s been quite a journey. It’s not as easy as it looks, you know? But I’ve picked up a few tricks along the way, and I thought I’d share them with y’all.
Washing My Hair
First things first, I started by washing my hair. And let me tell you, regular shampoos are a must, like, for real. I realized that keeping my hair clean is super important, probably more so than with other hair types. I found some anti-hair loss shampoo on Amazon, and I was like, “Okay, let’s give this a shot.” And it’s been pretty good. I mean, there are tons of these products there, from different brands, silicone-free, paraben-free, you name it.
Drying and Applying Stuff
After washing, I gently patted my hair dry with a towel. No rough rubbing, just patting. Then, I applied a smoothing serum. I just took a little bit, rubbed it between my palms, and ran it through my hair. This helps with the frizz and makes it look shiny, which is a big plus.
Moisturizing
Keeping my hair moisturized has been a game-changer. I noticed that when my hair is well-moisturized, it doesn’t get all frizzy. So, I started using a light leave-in conditioner. I just spray it on after washing, and it’s been working wonders. It keeps my hair looking sleek and smooth. My hair is not dry now!
Brushing and Styling
Then comes the brushing part. I use a wide-tooth comb to detangle, starting from the ends and working my way up. This helps to avoid breakage. I’ve noticed that being gentle with my hair during this process really makes a difference. It was time to get a new comb.
Regular Trims
Lastly, I made sure to get regular trims. This is super important to get rid of split ends and keep my hair looking healthy. I scheduled an appointment with my hairstylist every couple of months, and it’s been worth it. I just told him what kind of haircut I wanted, and he was happy to help.
My Thoughts
All in all, it’s been a process of trial and error, but I’m finally getting the hang of it. My hair looks straighter and healthier than ever before. It takes some effort, but it’s definitely doable. If you have any tips, please share! I’d love to hear what works for you.
