Okay, so, I’ve been on this whole journey to figure out the best way to style my dry, frizzy hair. It’s been a real struggle, you know? My hair’s naturally thick, which is great, but it also means it gets super dry and frizzy, especially in the summer.
First, I tried just about every product that says it’s for “dry hair” on the label. I used different shampoos, and then moved to the conditioners. I spent a good chunk of money. But, honestly, most of them didn’t really do much. Some even made my hair feel worse, like, really greasy or heavy. That was super frustrating.
Then, I started reading up on how to apply products the right way. That’s when I found out I was doing it all wrong! It turns out, you’re supposed to put anti-frizz stuff on wet hair. Who knew? I was putting it on my dry hair, thinking that’s when it needed it most. Turns out, wet hair is way better at soaking up the product, so it actually works.
- Shampoo for dry hair: I picked one up, and it’s been okay. It cleans my hair without making it feel like straw, so that’s a plus.
- Conditioner: This is where I started seeing a real difference. I tried many different brands. It makes my hair softer.
- Leave-in conditioner: I started using one from a brand called “Thank God It’s Natural.” It’s a Black woman-owned business, which is cool. Their stuff is pretty good! They have many different products. This leave-in conditioner helps define my curls without making them crunchy. I learned this brand from a friend’s review.
After washing and conditioning, I carefully put the leave-in conditioner all over my hair while it’s still wet. I make sure to get every strand. It makes a huge difference. Then, I usually just let my hair air dry. Sometimes I use a diffuser, but I try not to use too much heat.
So, yeah, that’s been my hair journey so far. It took some trial and error, and I definitely wasted some money along the way. But now I feel like I finally have a routine that works for me. My hair’s still not perfect, of course, but it’s a lot less frizzy and way more manageable. Plus, I discovered some cool new brands along the way, so that’s always fun! It’s all about finding what works for you, I guess. Hope this helps someone out there!
