Okay, so, let me tell you about this little experiment I did with my hair. It’s been looking pretty rough lately – too much heat styling, maybe a bit too enthusiastic with the bleach. You know how it goes. Anyway, I heard about this thing called keratin oil and thought, “Why not give it a shot?”
So, I went online and started looking around. There are tons of these keratin oils out there! I finally settled on one called “Luseta Keratin Hair Oil” mainly because I liked the bottle, hah. Another one I saw a lot was this “Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil”. They say it is really good for fine hair but I didn’t end up trying it.
I also grabbed the “PANTENE PRO-V KERATIN PROTECT OIL” because I’d heard good things about it. It’s supposed to help with damage and protect your hair from getting worse, which sounded pretty good to me.
My Hair Routine
- Wash and Condition: I started by washing my hair like normal. Nothing fancy here. I just used my regular shampoo and conditioner.
- Towel Dry: After my shower, I gently patted my hair with a towel. I didn’t want it dripping wet, just damp.
- Apply the Oil: Now for the fun part! I took a tiny bit of the Luseta Keratin Hair Oil, rubbed it between my hands. Then I started working it through my hair, focusing on the ends since that’s where it’s the most damaged. For the PANTENE one, I did the same thing another day, just to see how they compared. And there’s another type of oil called “Argan Oil” I also used on another time. This one is apparently packed with antioxidants and vitamin E. Good for dry hair like mine.
- Style as Usual: After that, I just styled my hair like I always do. Sometimes I blow-dry it, sometimes I let it air dry.
I’ve been doing this for a couple of weeks now, and honestly, I’m starting to see a difference. My hair feels a bit smoother, and it doesn’t look quite as fried. It’s not a miracle cure or anything, but it’s definitely an improvement. I also noticed that it helps keep the frizz down, which is a huge win in my book.
The PANTENE oil seemed to do a pretty good job too. It felt a bit lighter than the Luseta one, so that might be a good option if you have finer hair. All in all, I’m pretty happy I tried this out. It’s a simple thing to add to your routine, and it seems to make a real difference. If your hair’s feeling a bit rough, I’d say give keratin oil a try. You might be surprised!
