Hey everyone, so, I’ve been hearing a lot about flaxseed face masks lately and how they’re supposed to be great for your skin. Naturally, I got curious and decided to give it a try myself. Here’s how it went down.
First off, I had to get my hands on some ground flaxseed. I already had some at home, but I had to grind them up in my coffee grinder. After getting all the stuff ready, I started to prepare.
Here’s what I did:
- I mixed one tablespoon of ground flaxseed with about three tablespoons of water in a bowl. It formed this gooey, gel-like consistency, which was kind of weird, but hey, that’s what everyone said it should look like.
- I let the mixture sit for about 10 minutes, just to make sure it thickened up properly. While I was waiting, I washed my face to get rid of any makeup or dirt.
- Once the flaxseed mixture was ready, I applied it all over my face. I just used my fingers and spread it evenly. It felt a bit slimy, but not uncomfortable.
- Then came the waiting game. I left the mask on for about 20 minutes. During this time, I just chilled out and watched some YouTube videos. It was kind of relaxing, actually.
- After the 20 minutes were up, I rinsed off the mask with lukewarm water. It came off pretty easily, which was nice. I gently massaged my face as I rinsed, just to get a bit of exfoliation in there.
The Result
After drying my face, I have to say, my skin did feel softer and smoother. It wasn’t a drastic change or anything, but there was definitely a noticeable difference. My skin also felt more hydrated, which is always a plus. Overall, it was a pretty positive experience. I think I’ll try adding some honey or yogurt next time, just to see if that makes it even better. I’ve heard that adding a bit of honey or fresh lime juice can really boost the benefits. I did a patch test on my arm first, just to be safe, and everything was fine. Anyway, it’s a cheap and easy DIY skincare treatment, so why not give it a shot? If you’re curious about natural skincare, this is definitely worth a try!
That’s all about my flaxseed face mask journey. Hope you find it interesting!
