Alright, let’s talk about this hair gel stuff, the kind with aloe vera. You know, that slimy stuff they put in lotions and things. I ain’t no fancy hair stylist, mind you, just an old woman who’s seen a thing or two about hair in my days.
So, this aloe vera, they say it’s good for your hair. Good for dry hair, they say. Well, my hair’s been dry as a bone more times than I can count, what with the sun and the wind and all. Seems like this aloe stuff might just be the ticket.
Now, how do you use it? Well, it ain’t rocket science, that’s for sure. You can slap it on when your hair’s wet, right after you wash it. Or you can put it on when it’s dry, if you just want to smooth things down a bit. They say when your hair’s wet, the aloe pulls the water in, makes it even wetter, I guess. Sounds kinda backwards, but what do I know?
- Wet hair, dry hair, makes no never mind to me.
- Just slop it on, that’s what I always say.
- Don’t use too much though, or your hair will get all stiff and sticky. You don’t wanna look like you dipped your head in a bucket of glue.
They say you can even get the aloe straight from the plant, if you’re one of them fancy folks with green thumbs. Me? I just buy the stuff in a jar. It’s easier that way. Less mess, too. Ain’t nobody got time to be messing around with plants, not when there’s work to be done.
And what about styling? Well, this aloe gel, they say it can help you style your hair too. Define curls, they call it. Make your hair look all bouncy and pretty. I ain’t got many curls left these days, but I reckon it might work just the same for straight hair. Keep it in place, you know? Tame the flyaways.
I’ve seen some gels that make your hair so hard, it feels like you could crack a walnut on it. This aloe stuff ain’t like that, though. It’s supposed to be softer, more natural. That’s what I like about it. I don’t want my hair feeling like a helmet. I want it to feel like…well, like hair!
Now, I ain’t saying this aloe vera gel is a miracle cure or nothin’. It ain’t gonna make you grow a whole new head of hair, if you’re balding like my old man was. But it might make what you got look a little bit better, a little bit healthier. And that’s good enough for me.
So, if you’re looking for a hair gel that ain’t too harsh, that might actually do some good for your hair, maybe give this aloe vera stuff a try. It can’t hurt, can it? And who knows, you might just end up liking it. I do. It keeps my hair neat, makes it feel soft. And that’s all a body can ask for. It keeps things simple, just the way I like it.
And another thing, don’t go believing everything you see on them fancy TV commercials. Them folks will try to sell you anything, make you think you need all sorts of crazy products. Sometimes the simplest things are the best. Like aloe vera. Been around for ages, and it still works just fine. That’s what I always say, stick to what you know.
Anyways, I gotta go now. Got chores to do. But you think about what I said, alright? And maybe give that aloe vera gel a try. You might be surprised.
