Okay, here we go, guys. I just finished up a little experiment I was trying out – a face-off between a fruit fast and a water fast. I’d heard a bunch of stuff about both, so I figured, why not put ’em to the test myself and see what happens?
So, first up, I started with the fruit fast. The idea here is you’re just eating fruits, nothing else. I loaded up on a variety of fruits – apples, bananas, oranges, grapes, you name it. I figured this would keep things interesting and give me a range of nutrients. For three days, I ate nothing but fruit. I could eat as much as I wanted, whenever I felt hungry. The first day wasn’t too bad, I was feeling pretty good, lots of energy. But by the second day, I started to feel a bit sluggish. I was also really craving some savory food. I stuck with it, though, and by the third day, I was used to it. I have to say one good thing is that I felt full of energy. But eating only fruits made me feel a little tired too.
After the fruit fast, I took a couple of days eating normally, just to give my body a break. I ate regular, healthy meals, nothing crazy. Then, I dove into the water fast. Now, this one’s a bit more hardcore. You’re literally just drinking water, nothing else. No food whatsoever. I made sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated.
- The first day of the water fast was tough, I’m not gonna lie. I was hungry, like, really hungry.
- But I drank water whenever I felt a hunger pang, and that helped a bit.
- By the second day, the hunger was less intense, but I was feeling pretty weak. I noticed my energy levels were way down.
- I was also feeling a bit lightheaded at times.
- I only managed to stick with the water fast for two days.
Honestly, I couldn’t take it anymore. I was feeling pretty drained, both physically and mentally.
My Findings
So, what did I learn from all this? Well, both types of fasts have their ups and downs. The fruit fast was easier in terms of not feeling hungry, and I did feel pretty energetic. Plus, I got to enjoy the taste of all that delicious fruit. But it did get boring after a while, and I missed other types of food. Also, I found out that technically I was breaking my fast, because my body was still digesting the sugars from the fruits.
The water fast was definitely more challenging. It’s tough not eating any food at all. But I did feel a sense of accomplishment for being able to stick with it, even if it was just for a couple of days. It’s like you’re really testing your willpower. Some folks say it gives you mental clarity, but I didn’t really experience that. Maybe I didn’t do it long enough.
In the end, I think it really comes down to what you’re looking for. If you want a gentler fast where you still get to eat something, the fruit fast might be a good option. You’ll get some nutrients, and it’s not as hard on your body. But if you’re looking for a more intense experience and you think you can handle the hunger, then maybe give the water fast a try. Just make sure you listen to your body and don’t push yourself too hard.
That’s my two cents on fruit fasting versus water fasting. Hope you guys found this helpful. I’m gonna go grab a solid meal now, I’m starving!
