Well, this here’s a thing. Sometimes, I drink that water first thing in the morning, and my tummy starts to act up. Makes me feel like I’m gonna be sick. Why does drinking water in the morning make me nauseous? It’s supposed to be good for you, right?
I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout it. They say if you ain’t got nothin’ in your belly, that water just sloshes around in there and makes you feel queasy. Drinking water on an empty stomach, they call it. Like your body’s all outta whack ’cause it ain’t got no food to go with it. Your body’s low on energy, needs somethin’ to chew on, not just water. Makes sense, I reckon.
Maybe I should be eatin’ somethin’ with my water. Not just gulpin’ it down like a thirsty dog. Maybe some toast or some porridge. This body of mine, it needs its fuel, you know? Just like that old tractor out back, can’t run on empty.
- Maybe I’m drinkin’ it too fast, too.
- Should slow down, take little sips.
- Like sippin’ on sweet tea on a hot day.
Another thing I heard is that maybe I’m drinkin’ too much water after I eat. Nausea after drinking water can be because you’re too full. Stuffing myself full, then addin’ all that water on top. No wonder my tummy’s complainin’. Gotta find that balance, I guess. Not too much, not too little.
And you know what else? Some folks say the kind of water matters. If I feel sick after drinking that plain water, maybe I should try drinkin’ ice cold water. They say it is better than room temperature water.
If you only drink water after a meal, then you are full. Then you feel nauseous. But if you drink water on an empty stomach, you also feel nauseous. Your body is hungry, and low energy.
I remember my grandma used to say, “Listen to your body.” She was a wise woman, that one. Maybe my body’s tryin’ to tell me somethin’. Maybe it’s sayin’, “Hold on there, slow down with that water. Get some food in me first.”
I’ve also heard of folks using those old-timey remedies. Drinking water in the morning shouldn’t be a problem. But if it is, you could suck on some sugared ginger, that helps. Or smellin’ peppermint oil. And there’s those bracelets, too. Anti-nausea bracelets, they call ’em. Don’t know if they really work, but some folks swear by ’em. Might be worth a try, I suppose.
It’s all about findin’ what works for you, I reckon. Each body’s different. What works for one might not work for another. Gotta experiment a little, see what settles the tummy and what makes it churn.
Here are some things you can try when drinking water makes you nauseous:
- Suck on sugared ginger
- Smell peppermint oil
- Wear an anti-nausea bracelet
I also heard that drinking water first thing in the morning can cause low blood sugar. It is also called hypoglycemia. I don’t know what it is exactly. But it seems bad. The word “low” means there is not enough of it. And the word “sugar” is what we put in coffee. So it must mean there is not enough sugar in my blood. If I have low blood sugar. Then I feel bad. I feel dizzy, and nauseous. But drinking water should not make blood sugar low. Only when you don’t eat, then your blood sugar is low. So I should eat something in the morning.
It’s all a bit confusin’, ain’t it? This body, it’s a complicated thing. But I reckon I’ll figure it out. Just gotta listen to what it’s tellin’ me, try different things, and see what sticks. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll be able to enjoy that morning water without my tummy doin’ flips.
If drinking water makes you nauseous, it is always better to go see a doctor. Maybe there is something wrong in the body. If you don’t eat, you have low blood sugar. If you drink water, you feel nauseous. Maybe there is something wrong. You need to go to a doctor. The doctor will check your body. The doctor will tell you what is wrong.
So there you have it. That’s all I know about it. Hope this helps you. If you have same problem like me, you can try these. Maybe it will work. But you should also see a doctor. Just in case.
