Okay, so I’ve been on this whole natural remedies kick lately, right? And my hair, well, it’s been looking a bit… sad. Thinning, not as shiny as it used to be, you know the drill. I stumbled upon this thing called evening primrose oil while I was down one of my internet rabbit holes. People online were saying it could help with hair growth and make your hair healthier overall.
I was like, “What the heck, let’s give it a shot.” So, I went out and bought a bottle of the stuff. It’s this oil from a plant that apparently blooms at night. Fancy, huh? The bottle said it was full of fatty acids and antioxidants, which sounded good to me, though I didn’t really know what that meant at the time.
Now, there are two ways you can supposedly use this oil for your hair. You can either take it as a supplement or apply it directly to your scalp. I decided to try both, because why not? I started taking the capsules daily, just like the bottle suggested.
Then, a couple of times a week, I would massage the oil into my scalp before bed. It felt kind of nice, actually, like a mini spa treatment. I’d leave it on overnight and wash it out in the morning. It did make my hair a bit greasy, but that was expected.
The first week, I didn’t notice much of a difference. I was starting to think this whole thing was a bust. But I kept at it, because I read online that it could take up to six weeks to see results.
- Week two: Still nothing major, but my scalp did feel a bit less itchy than usual.
- Week three: Hmm, maybe my hair was looking a tiny bit shinier? Could be my imagination.
- Week four: Okay, I think there’s definitely something happening! My hair felt a little thicker, and it seemed like there was less hair falling out in the shower.
- Week five: My hair seemed fuller.
- Week six: Yes, my hair definitely feels stronger and looks healthier!
I also read that this oil can reduce inflammation on your scalp. It did help with my dry scalp, I think. My hair also seems a little longer than before. I don’t know if it’s growing faster, or if it’s just not breaking off as much. Either way, I’m happy! I’m going to keep using this evening primrose oil. It’s become a part of my weekly routine now, and I’m excited to see if my hair continues to improve. I feel like I’ve finally found something that actually works for my hair. So, if you’re struggling with your hair like I was, maybe give this stuff a try!
