Okay, so, I had my gallbladder out a while back. It wasn’t fun, but you know, it had to be done. The whole surgery part went fine, but I was super confused about what I could drink afterward. I mean, nobody really tells you this stuff!
So, I started by just sticking to water. I figured that was the safest bet, right? I was chugging water like it was my job. I didn’t even touch anything else for a couple of days. Just to be on the safe side, you know?
Drinks I Tried After My Surgery
- Water, water, water: This was my go-to. I made sure I was always sipping on it. They say it’s good for digestion and all that jazz, so I just went with it.
- Juice: After a few days, I got a bit bored with just water. So I started adding some juice to my routine. Nothing too crazy, just some apple juice or some watered-down fruit punch. I avoided anything with too much sugar, ’cause I heard that wasn’t good.
- Soda: Now, this was a tricky one. I really wanted a soda. I love soda. I read somewhere that soda was okay, and I also read it might upset my stomach. I decided to try it, but just a little bit. I took a few sips of some Sprite, and you know what? It was fine. No problems at all. But I still kept it to a minimum, just in case.
I also stayed away from fatty foods for a while, just like the doc said. No fried stuff, no greasy burgers. It was tough, but I managed. I checked food labels like a hawk, making sure nothing had more than 3 grams of fat. I wasn’t taking any chances.
Honestly, after the first week, I pretty much went back to my normal diet, including drinks. I just made sure to take it slow and listen to my body. If something didn’t feel right, I just wouldn’t eat or drink it. The whole experience was a bit of a learning curve, but I got through it. Now, I can enjoy my sodas and pretty much everything else, just in moderation. And, hey, at least I’m not in pain anymore, which is the main thing!
