Okay, so, I got curious about whether or not you can actually leak through a tampon. Sounds kinda gross, but it’s a real question, right? So, I decided to test it out myself and see what happens.
First off, I had to figure out what kind of tampon to use. There are those ones with applicators and those without. I went with the applicator kind ’cause I figured it’d be easier to, you know, get it in there correctly. After picking out the type, I gotta to put the tampon in.

Figuring Out the Flow
Now, here’s the thing: you can’t really tell how full a tampon is without taking it out, so it’s kind of a guessing game at first. I started by leaving it in for about four hours, just to see. Pulled it out, and sure enough, it was pretty soaked. But no leaks yet! That’s a good sign, I guess.

Upping the Absorbency
Next, I tried leaving it in for a little longer, like maybe five or six hours. This time, when I took it out, there was a little bit of leakage. Nothing major, but definitely there. I’d heard that if you leak after four hours, you might need a more absorbent tampon, so that’s what I tried next. Got a box of the “super” ones, hoping that would do the trick. It did work better, I gotta to say.

Stress Test
Then I thought, what about stress? Like, if you’re doing a lot of moving around or whatever. So, I wore one of the super tampons while I went for a run. I gotta say, I was kinda worried the whole time, but it actually held up pretty well! No leaks, even with all that bouncing around.

The Prolapse Thing
I read somewhere that tampons can actually help with something called prolapse, which is when your insides kinda… sag. Apparently, it can straighten out your urethra, which is the tube you pee through. I don’t have that problem, thankfully, but it’s interesting to know. Makes sense, I guess, since the tampon is basically pushing things back into place.

Final Thoughts
So, can you leak through a tampon? Yeah, you totally can. But it seems like it mostly happens if you leave it in too long or if you’re not using the right absorbency. Just gotta pay attention to your body and change it out regularly, and you should be good. Also, those super tampons are definitely the way to go if you’re worried about leaks, especially if you’re gonna be active. After a few times of trying, I figured out a good routine to avoid leaking.
Anyway, that’s my little experiment. Hope it’s helpful, or at least not too TMI! It’s definitely good to know what your body can handle and be prepared, you know?
