Alright, so, your fella, he’s stuck to his family like glue, huh? Like a tick on a dog’s back. I’ve seen it before, plenty of times. Boys, they can be like that. Let’s figure this mess out, shall we?
First off, you gotta set some ground rules, you hear? Like, how often he’s gonna be callin’ you, textin’ you. And how much time he’s gonna spend with you, not just his mama and them. Gotta lay it all out, plain as day. And stick to it, don’t you go bendin’ the rules just ’cause he gives you those puppy-dog eyes.
- Talkin’ is key, see? Tell him straight up, “Look here, we need to spend time together too.”
- And if he’s always runnin’ off to his family, maybe he’s scared of a fight. Scared to say no to them, scared to say yes to you. Boys, they can be like that, afraid of stirrin’ the pot.
- Or maybe, just maybe, he’s still tied to his mama’s apron strings. Dependin’ on them for money, for everything. Like a baby bird that don’t wanna leave the nest.
Now, some boys, they always runnin’ to their folks before they even think about you. Read somethin’ about it once, in one of them magazines at the store. Said somethin’ about focusin’ on things… Don’t rightly remember, but it makes sense, you know? He’s focused on them, not on you.
You gotta think about how he growed up, too. Was he the baby of the family? Did his mama always coddle him? That stuff matters, you know. Makes a difference in how a man turns out. Like them tomatoes in my garden, some grow tall and strong, some just wither and die.
Some families, they’re just real close. Closer than peas in a pod. Maybe his family is like that. Nothin’ wrong with bein’ close, but there’s gotta be a balance, right? He can’t be spendin’ all his time with them and leavin’ you out in the cold.
Now, if you’re feelin’ lonely, that’s a whole different kettle of fish. That ain’t got nothin’ to do with his family, that’s about you and him. You gotta figure out if he’s makin’ you lonely, or if you just feelin’ lonely in general. Sometimes, we just get that way, you know? Like a cloudy day that just won’t go away.
Try to see things from his side, though. Walk a mile in his shoes, as they say. Every family’s different, like snowflakes, no two are the same. Maybe his family just does things different. Maybe they always been this way, and he don’t know no other way.
Heard tell there’s ways to deal with this, like twelve of ‘em or somethin’. Don’t know all that fancy stuff, but I can tell you what I know. Common sense, mostly.
Make sure he knows you need him too. Don’t be shy about it. Men, they ain’t mind readers, you gotta spell it out for ’em sometimes. Tell him, “I need you to be here for me, too.” And if he ain’t listenin’, well, then you gotta decide if that’s somethin’ you can live with.
And for goodness sake, don’t go bad-mouthin’ his family. That’ll just make him dig his heels in deeper. You gotta be smart about this. Like catchin’ a fly with honey, not vinegar.
Maybe you can try to get to know his family better. Find some common ground, you know? Show them you ain’t tryin’ to steal him away, just want a piece of his time. Maybe bake ’em a pie, everyone likes pie.
But if he’s still glued to them, and you’re always feelin’ second best, then you gotta ask yourself if this is what you really want. Life’s too short to be playin’ second fiddle, ain’t it? You deserve to be with someone who puts you first, or at least close to it. Don’t you forget that.
This ain’t about them, it’s about you and him. And if he can’t see that, well, maybe he ain’t the right fella for you. Plenty of fish in the sea, as they say. Don’t you go settlin’ for less than you deserve. You’re a strong woman, you hear? You can handle this.
Remember, you deserve to be happy. And if this fella and his family are standin’ in the way of that happiness, then it’s time to make a change. Don’t be afraid to stand up for yourself, and for what you want. You got this.
