Alright, so a while back, I started noticing some dark spots popping up on my skin. You know, the kind that just won’t go away no matter how much you wish they would. I tried a few things, some creams and stuff, but nothing really seemed to make a dent. That’s when I decided to give this whole “scrub for hyperpigmentation” thing a shot. I mean, what did I have to lose, right?
First, I started looking for something for a home remedy. Something cheap, something simple. Then I found this Neutrogena Bright Boost Micropolish Face Scrub, and it says it has 3X Polishing Power or something like that. I thought, “Okay, let’s give this a try.” I used it for a few weeks. I’d wet my face, rub this stuff on in little circles, and then rinse it off. It felt pretty good, kind of like it was really cleaning deep down, you know?
Then, I saw a lot of people talking about chemical peels online. I got a bit curious. I did a little digging and stumbled upon The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution. This one sounded serious, with all those acids—glycolic, lactic, tartaric, citric, and salicylic. Seemed like it meant business. It promised to take care of extra oil and make my dull skin look alive again.
I was a little nervous about using it, ’cause it sounded intense. But I followed the instructions to a T. I put it on clean, dry skin, waited for about 10 minutes (it tingled, not gonna lie), and then washed it off with cool water. After the first time, I saw a slight difference. My skin was smoother, for sure.
- Started with the Neutrogena scrub. Used it regularly.
- Felt good, but wanted something stronger.
- Found The Ordinary’s peeling solution.
- Tried it out, carefully following the directions.
- Noticed a difference after the first use.
I kept using both products, the scrub a couple of times a week and the peel maybe once a week. Over time, those dark spots did start to fade. It wasn’t like an overnight miracle, but it was progress. My skin looked brighter and more even-toned.
So, that’s my experience with using scrubs for hyperpigmentation. It took some trial and error, and I had to be patient. But I’m pretty happy with how things turned out. My skin’s not perfect, but it’s definitely improved a lot. And that’s a win in my book.
