Okay, so I’ve been hearing a lot about collagen lately, like, how it’s good for your skin and stuff. And I thought, why not give it a shot? So I decided to make my own collagen drink. I mean, I see all these fancy collagen products in stores, but I figured I could just whip something up at home. It started with a simple idea, I just want to see if those “skin elasticity enhance” things are real or not.
First, I did some Googling to see what other people were doing. There are tons of recipes out there, with all sorts of ingredients. But I wanted to keep it simple, you know? Nothing too crazy. Then I grabbed some marine collagen powder from a local store. I found that some people are using it in smoothies and lattes, that’s also cool.
Here’s what I ended up doing:
- I boiled some water in a kettle. Just regular tap water, nothing fancy.
- While the water was heating up, I got a big glass and put a scoop of that collagen powder in it. It looked kind of like protein powder, all white and fluffy.
- Once the water was hot, I poured it into the glass. I made sure not to fill it all the way up, though. I left some room at the top.
- Then came the stirring. Oh boy, did I stir. It took a while for that powder to dissolve completely. I didn’t want any clumps in my drink.
- After what felt like forever, the powder finally dissolved. The water turned a little cloudy, but that’s apparently normal.
- To make it taste a little better, I squeezed in some lemon juice. I figured it would give it a nice, refreshing kick. Plus, I heard vitamin C is good for collagen absorption, so it’s like a win-win.
- Finally, I just added a little bit of honey in the end to balance the sourness of the lemon.
And that’s it! My homemade collagen drink. I’ve been having it every morning for a week now. It’s easy to make, it does not taste bad, and I can finally have those fancy collagen things that others have.
To be honest, I don’t know if it’s actually doing anything for my skin yet. Maybe it takes longer to see results. But hey, at least I’m trying something new, right? And it’s kind of fun to play around in the kitchen. I might experiment with other flavors later on, like adding some berries or maybe even some greens. The possibilities are endless!
My suggestion
If you also want to try making this, just remember to stir well and be patient for it to dissolve. And if you have been taking it for a while, share your experience with me, we can definitely learn from each other!
