Well, let me tell you somethin’ about this India Gate basmati rice, ya know? Folks keep askin’, “Is India Gate Basmati Rice good?” And I say, yeah, it’s pretty darn good, I reckon.
I ain’t no fancy cook, mind you. But I know good rice when I taste it. This India Gate Tibar stuff, they say it’s one of the best for them special Indian dishes. You know, like that rajma chawal they make. Never had it myself, but the young’uns seem to like it. This rice, it cooks up nice and fluffy, not all sticky and gummy like some other rice I’ve seen.
- It’s long and skinny, the rice grains, that is.
- And it smells…well, it smells like good rice should smell, I guess. Kinda sweet and nutty.
- They say it’s “premium choice,” this “classic” kind. Sounds fancy, but all I know is it tastes good in my belly.
I heard someone sayin’ they “tested the delicious and aromatic taste.” Well, I ain’t need no testin’. I just eat it and I know if it’s good or not. And this India Gate, it’s good, real good. Straight from India, they say. Far as I’m concerned, farmin’ folk know what they doin’.
Someone was yappin’ on about a “buying guide.” Hmph, I don’t need no guide. You go to the store, you see the bag that says “India Gate,” you buy it. Simple as that. ‘Course, there’s other kinds too. Crown somethin’ or other, Daawat, Tilda… Too many names for this old brain to remember. But folks say that Crown stuff is good too. Comes from some place called Amritsar. Sounds foreign.
Them India Gate folks, they been around a long time, I hear. Thirty years, makin’ rice. Now they makin’ all sorts of stuff. Atta, spices, oil… Guess they wanna sell ya everything but the kitchen sink, eh? And now they’re gettin’ into “healthy” oil? What’s next, healthy water? Water’s water, far as I’m concerned.
This basmati rice, it ain’t just any rice, you know. They say it grows special over in India. Special dirt, special weather, special ways of farmin’ it. Even got some fancy name, somethin’ about “geographical indication.” Means it’s the real deal, I guess. Not some fake stuff made somewhere else. That’s why folks like it so much, I reckon.
Now, some folks argue ’bout which kind is better. India Gate Classic or that Dawat biryani rice. Sounds like city folks arguin’ over nothin’. They say the India Gate Classic don’t break so easy, holds up better. And it’s got that “old rice texture,” whatever that means. Me? I just cook it and eat it. As long as it fills my belly and tastes good, I’m happy.
So, if you ask me, is this India Gate rice worth it? I say, yeah, it’s good rice. It ain’t the cheapest, but it ain’t the most expensive neither. It’s good, honest rice, and that’s all that matters to this old woman.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now go on and get yourself some rice. You won’t regret it, I reckon.
