Okay, so, I’ve been thinking about getting my hair straightened for, like, forever. My hair is naturally wavy and a bit frizzy, and honestly, it’s a pain to manage every day. I saw this thing called “hair rebonding” online and it sounded interesting. So I decided, what the heck, let’s give it a shot!
First, I booked an appointment at this salon that had pretty good reviews. I was a little nervous, but excited too. When I got there, the stylist examined my hair and told me all about the process. It’s basically this chemical treatment that breaks down your hair’s natural bonds and then rebuilds them to make your hair straight.
We got started, and the first step was washing my hair with some special shampoo. Then, they applied this cream that smelled kinda strong, not gonna lie. This was the relaxant, the stuff that breaks down the hair bonds. They had to leave it on for a certain amount of time, depending on my hair type, and the stylist kept checking it to make sure it wasn’t damaging my hair.
After the relaxant was rinsed out, they blew my hair dry and then started the really long part – straightening my hair with a flat iron. They did it in super small sections to make sure every single strand was perfectly straight. This took a while, I was sitting there for hours, but I was determined to get straight hair.
- Apply the relaxant cream
- Rinse out the relaxant
- Blow-dry the hair
- Straighten with a flat iron
Finally, they applied another cream, this one was called a neutralizer. This is the stuff that reforms the hair bonds and locks in the straightness. This had to sit for a while too, and then they rinsed it out and conditioned my hair. I was so excited I couldn’t stop touching it and it is so straight and soft now!
The whole process took about four or five hours, maybe even longer, and it was a bit pricey, but let me tell you, it was worth it. My hair looks amazing! It’s so sleek and shiny, and I don’t have to spend hours trying to style it every morning. It improved the look and feel of my hair a lot! If you’re thinking about getting your hair rebonded, I’d say go for it! Just make sure you go to a good salon and a stylist who knows what they’re doing. My hair feels so much easier to manage now.
My tips after hair rebonding treatment:
- Do not wash your hair for at least three days.
- Do not use any hair accessories like hair clips, rubber bands, or even tuck it behind your ears.
- Use mild shampoos and conditioners.
I’m so happy with the results. Now everyday is a good hair day!
