Alright, let’s talk about something that’s been on my mind lately: using Vaseline as lube. I mean, it’s cheap, it’s everywhere, and it seems like it would do the job, right? So, I decided to do a little experiment and see if it’s really a good idea.
First off, I grabbed a jar of good old Vaseline from my bathroom cabinet. You know, the one I usually use for chapped lips or dry skin. I figured, if it’s safe for my skin, it should be safe for, uh, other areas, right? Wrong. I learned this the hard way.
I started by doing some research online. I know, I should’ve done that first, but hey, who actually reads those long articles? Anyway, turns out, Vaseline and latex condoms are not friends. At all. Apparently, Vaseline can weaken the latex and make it more likely to break. And that’s the last thing you want during, you know, sexy time. That scared me for sure, I gotta have protection from that!
Then I thought, okay, maybe it’s fine if you’re not using condoms. But then I found out that Vaseline can actually trap bacteria down there. And that can lead to infections. Nope, no thank you. I definitely don’t want to deal with that mess. Plus, it’s super hard to wash off, and it can stain your sheets. Imagine explaining that to someone! Oh my god! I will have to throw those sheets away!
So, I decided to put my little experiment to the test. And let me tell you, it was not pleasant. First, it felt weird. Not smooth and slippery like a good lube, but more like, well, greasy. And it didn’t really go away. I tried to wash it off with soap and water, but it just kind of stuck there. I had to scrub and scrub, and it still felt like there was a film of Vaseline on my skin. Yuck.
After that whole fiasco, I went back to the internet and did some more digging. I found out that there are these things called water-based lubes. They’re specifically designed for, well, you know. And they’re safe to use with condoms, they don’t trap bacteria, and they’re easy to clean up. They even had some numbers saying something about a pH of 4.5 and osmolality below 1200, whatever that means. All these numbers are making my head spin.
- Experiment time: Tried Vaseline as lube.
- Feels: Greasy, not slippery, hard to wash off.
- Condom issue: Vaseline can make them break.
- Bacteria problem: Can trap bacteria and cause infections.
- Messy: Stains sheets and clothes.
- Solution: Water-based lubes are the way to go.
So, there you have it. My little adventure into the world of Vaseline as lube. Do not recommend it. Stick to the water-based stuff, folks. It’s not worth the risk or the mess. Trust me, I learned the hard way so you don’t have to. And I just threw the Vaseline away, what else can I say?
