Hey everyone, so I’ve been messing around with some DIY skincare stuff lately, and I wanted to share my experience with making this beetroot serum. You know, trying to get that glow without breaking the bank, haha.
So, first, I grabbed some beetroots. I washed them real good, peeled ’em, and chopped them into small chunks. I was thinking, “Okay, let’s get this show on the road.” I tossed those chunks into my blender and blitzed them until they were a nice, smooth puree. It looked like a crime scene in my kitchen, but it was worth it!
Next, I strained the juice. I used a cheesecloth, but you could probably use a fine-mesh sieve too. Just wanted to get rid of all those little beetroot bits. This step was a bit messy, but I managed not to stain anything too badly.
- Washed and peeled the beetroots.
- Chopped them into small pieces.
- Blended them into a smooth puree.
- Strained the juice to remove the pulp.
After I had the pure beetroot juice, I started thinking about what else to add. I wanted this serum to be moisturizing and maybe even help with fine lines. I know beetroot is full of antioxidants, so it’s good for that anti-aging. I decided to mix the beetroot juice with some glycerin and a bit of rose water. I just mixed them all together in a clean bottle. It looked like a potion brewing! Glycerin is for moisturizing, and the rose water just smells nice and feels fancy.
And there you have it! My homemade beetroot serum. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now, just patting a few drops onto my face after I wash it. I like it, it feels refreshing and my skin does seem a bit brighter, and I feel the texture was improved, maybe even younger, who knows! I’ll keep using it and see if it makes any more difference. I mean, it’s natural, cheap, and kinda fun to make. Who knew beetroots could be so useful outside of the kitchen?
Making the serum
It was pretty easy, honestly. Just mix, shake, and done. I did some reading online and found that beetroot is supposed to be good for skin elasticity. I guess it’s the vitamin C that helps produce collagen. Collagen production helps reduce lines and wrinkles. It’s like the magic word for youthful skin, right? Anyway, I felt like a mad scientist mixing it all up.
I stored my concoction in a dark glass bottle in the fridge. I read somewhere that this helps keep it fresh for longer. I don’t know about all that, but I did it anyway. I’ve been using it every night before bed. My skin does feel softer, and I think some of those little lines around my eyes are less noticeable. But, it could also just be wishful thinking. The antioxidant-rich formula of beetroot combats free radicals.
I just wanna say, making this serum was a fun experiment. I’m not sure if it’s some miracle cure for aging, but my skin definitely feels good. Plus, it was super cheap to make, so that’s a win in my book. Might try adding some other stuff next time, maybe some aloe vera or something. We’ll see! Let me know if any of you guys try this out. I’d love to hear what you think!
The serum contains a higher proportion of active ingredients and penetrates deeper into the skin, which means a better chance to improve texture, reduce lines, and improve elasticity. It gently smooths and refines texture, soothes redness.
Give it a shot and let me know what you think. Maybe you’ll be surprised!
