Okay, so, I’ve been thinking a lot about those so-called friends we sometimes have in our lives, you know? Those people who smile to your face but then turn around and talk trash or just use you. It’s messed up, right? So, I decided, why not channel all that frustration into something creative? That’s when I got the idea to write some poetry about fake friends. Yeah, I know, it sounds a bit dramatic, but hear me out.
Getting Started
First off, I had to really think about what makes a friend “fake”. I started by making a list. I jotted down things like how they’re only around when they need something, how they love to gossip, and how they disappear when things get tough. I also noticed how fake friends tend to get jealous of your achievements instead of being happy for you. It’s like they’re in constant competition, and it’s exhausting. After making the list, I was thinking all the time and tried to recall all the bad things that happened.
The Writing Process
After I got a good grasp on what I wanted to convey, I started writing. At first, I tried to use fancy words and metaphors, you know, to make it sound like “real poetry.” But then I realized that’s not what I was going for. I wanted the poems to be raw and real, just like the emotions I was feeling.
- First Poem: “Empty Smiles” – This one was all about the two-faced nature of fake friends. I wrote about how their smiles seem so genuine, but behind them, there’s nothing but emptiness. It was like, they put on a show for everyone, but you can see right through it.
- Second Poem: “Fair-Weather Crew” – This poem focused on how fake friends are only there during the good times. I used lines like how they flock to you when the sun is shining but scatter the moment a storm cloud appears. It’s like they’re only interested in being your friend as long as it’s convenient for them.
- Third Poem: “The Jealousy Trap” – Here, I delved into the green-eyed monster. I talked about how a real friend celebrates your successes, but a fake one secretly wishes for your downfall. Their congratulations feel hollow, and their eyes betray their true feelings. It is so sad when a friend is like that. I can’t help but keep thinking about it.
- Fourth Poem: “Broken Promises” – This one was tough to write. It was about the betrayal of trust, how fake friends make promises they never intend to keep. I poured all my feelings of disappointment and hurt into this poem. Their words are like empty vessels, devoid of meaning.
The Result
I gotta say, the whole process was pretty therapeutic. Getting all those feelings out on paper, even if it was just in the form of some rough, emotional poems, was really helpful. And you know what? The poems didn’t turn out half bad. They’re not perfect, but they’re honest, and that’s what matters.
I’m not sure if I’ll share these poems with anyone else, but just writing them was enough for me. It helped me process those feelings of betrayal and disappointment and move on. So, if you’re dealing with some fake friends in your life, I highly recommend giving poetry a try. It might just be the outlet you need to express yourself and start healing.
