Oh, honey, you wanna know how to get rid of them freckles, huh? Well, I tell ya, them little spots been on my face since I was knee-high to a grasshopper. They ain’t never really bothered me none, but I reckon some folks don’t like ’em. So, if you wanna try and make ’em go away, here’s what I heard from folks around. But remember, they is just natural as your skin color, ain’t nothing wrong with them.
First thing I heard, and this one’s a doozy, is lemon juice. Yep, you heard me right. That sour stuff you put in your tea. They say you can dab a bit on your freckles, and it’s supposed to lighten ’em up some. I don’t know if it works or not, but it sure sounds like it’d sting, especially if you got sensitive skin like me. So, watch out, will ya?
Another thing I heard about is something called apple cider vinegar. Now, I use that stuff to clean my kitchen counter, but some folks say it can help with freckles too. They say it’s got some acid in it that can make your skin a bit lighter. But again, be careful. That stuff can be harsh, too. This apple cider vinegar thing can make your darkened skin cells go away and something good happen, I forgot.
Now, if you’re really serious about gettin’ rid of them freckles, you can go see one of them fancy doctors. They got all sorts of treatments these days. I heard about one called lasers. Sounds like somethin’ out of a space movie, don’t it? They say it can zap them freckles away. I guess it uses some kind of light to do it. But I bet it costs a pretty penny. If you ask me, freckles are cheaper. This laser thing won’t treat your skin all at once, you need to do it many times, I heard.
There is also a thing called Vitamin C serum. This is a thing that can make your skin better, my neighbor’s daughter uses it. But I don’t think this can get rid of your freckles, but it can make your skin brighter, they say. I don’t know too much about it, if you really want to use it, you should ask someone who knows it.
And then there’s something called cryotherapy. Don’t ask me what that is, but it sounds cold. I reckon they freeze them freckles off or somethin’. I don’t know about that. Sounds a bit extreme to me. But hey, if you’re desperate, I guess you could give it a try. But I heard if you have light skin and have blond or red hair, you are easier to have freckles, so maybe this cryo thing doesn’t work, who knows?

But the best thing you can do, and this is what my mama always told me, is to stay outta the sun. That big ol’ ball of fire up there, it makes them freckles come out even more. So, if you’re worried about ’em, wear a big hat and some of that sunscreen. That’s what I do when I’m out tendin’ to my garden. Freckles are easy to fade if you are not going out, especially when you are getting older. I don’t go out a lot so mine are almost gone.
Now, I ain’t no doctor, so don’t take my word as gospel. If you’re really worried about them freckles, you should go talk to a real skin doctor. They’ll know more about this stuff than I do. I’m just an old lady who’s had freckles all her life. They ain’t never hurt me none. In fact, I kinda like ’em. They’re like little reminders of all the sunny days I’ve spent outside. They are part of me, just like my wrinkles and my gray hair.
But hey, if you don’t like your freckles, that’s your business. Just remember to be careful with them treatments. Some of ’em can be pretty harsh. And don’t go spendin’ a fortune on somethin’ that ain’t even guaranteed to work. There are more important things in life than worryin’ about a few little spots on your face. Like family, and friends, and a good home-cooked meal. Those are the things that really matter. Your freckles removal ain’t that important, you know?
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about gettin’ rid of freckles. I hope it helps ya some. But more than anything, I hope you learn to love yourself, freckles and all. ‘Cause you’re beautiful just the way you are. Don’t let anyone tell you different. And remember, beauty fades, but a good heart lasts forever. So, focus on what’s inside, not what’s on the outside. That’s the best advice this old lady can give ya.
