Alright, let’s gab about them kiwi and guava thingamajigs. You know, those fancy fruits they sell at the market now. Used to be just apples and oranges, but now… well, everything’s changed, ain’t it?
So, first off, what are these things? Well, a kiwi, it’s this little fuzzy brown fella, kinda like a big egg, but green inside with black seeds. Taste? A little sour, a little sweet, kinda tangy. Good for ya, they say. Lots of that “vitamin C” stuff the doctors keep yammering about.
Then there’s this guava. Rounder than a kiwi, skin’s smoother too, sometimes green, sometimes yellow, sometimes even pinkish! Inside? Well, that depends. Some are white, some are pink, some are even red. Sweeter than a kiwi, I’d say, and kinda…juicy. Like a pear, but… different. They got that “vitamin C” too, and some other things, lyco-something-or-other.
Now, folks are always comparing them. What’s better, a kiwi or a guava? Well, that’s like askin’ if a chicken or a duck is better. Depends on what you’re lookin’ for, I reckon.

- Got a sweet tooth? Guava’s your friend.
- Need some roughage to keep things movin’? Both got plenty of that fiber stuff.
They say kiwi’s got more of them B vitamins. You know, the ones that give you energy. And it’s got more of that…beta-carotene. Good for your eyes, they say. Guava, though, it’s got more of that lycopene. Heard it’s good for your heart or somethin’. Honestly, it’s all a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. Eat your fruits and veggies, that’s what my mama always said, and she lived to be ninety-nine.
Now, you can eat these things just as they are. Peel ’em, slice ’em, munch ’em down. But folks are gettin’ fancy these days. They’re puttin’ them in smoothies, making jams, even mixing them with… whatchamacallit… nicotine salts? For them fancy e-cigarettes. Can you believe it? Back in my day, we smoked good old-fashioned tobacco, none of this fruity puffin’ nonsense.
I saw some young’uns the other day, drinkin’ somethin’ called “Kiwi Passion Fruit Guava” smoothie. Sounded awful fancy. Passion fruit? Never even heard of it. But they were slurpin’ it down like it was the best thing since sliced bread. Guess times are changing.
They even got these charts now, ranking fruits. Guava versus kiwi – who wins? Well, like I said, it ain’t that simple. Each one’s got its own thing goin’ on. Kiwi’s got more of this, guava’s got more of that. It’s all a big ol’ mix-up.
So, what’s the bottom line? Are kiwi and guava good for you? I reckon so. They’re fruits, ain’t they? And fruits are supposed to be good for you. At least, that’s what they keep tellin’ us on the TV. But don’t go thinkin’ they’re some kind of miracle cure. A little bit of everything, that’s my motto. A little bit of kiwi, a little bit of guava, a little bit of good old-fashioned common sense.
And don’t forget, fresh is always best. None of that canned stuff. You want the real deal, the stuff that tastes like sunshine and dirt. That’s the good stuff, the stuff that’ll keep you goin’.
So, next time you’re at the market, don’t be afraid to grab a kiwi or a guava. Or heck, grab both! Try ‘em out, see what you think. You might just find yourself a new favorite fruit. And if you don’t like ’em, well, there’s always apples and oranges.
