Alright, alright, let’s talk about them healthy snacks, the ones that help you lose a bit of that weight, you know? I ain’t no doctor or nothing, but I know a thing or two about eatin’ good without gettin’ all big and round.
First off, you got them roasted chana, them chickpeas. Yeah, the little brown things. You roast ’em up, maybe with a little salt, and they get all crunchy and good. Keeps your belly full without makin’ you feel all heavy and sluggish. My kids, they used to eat ’em like candy, and they ain’t exactly skinny, but these things, they’re good for ya, I tell ya.
Then there’s that dhokla stuff. Steamed, it is, made from that chickpea flour. It’s kinda spongy and a little bit sour, but in a good way. Light on the stomach, that’s what it is. Good for a snack, you know, when you’re feelin’ peckish but don’t wanna ruin your supper.
- Now, about that sprout mix parantha… You know, sprouts? Them little things that grow outta beans? You mix ’em up and put ’em in a flatbread, that’s what a parantha is. My grandkids, they love it. It’s healthy, got all them vitamins and stuff, and it fills you up good. And I make it with a lil bit oil, not too much you know, have to watch the waistline these days, hah!
- And who doesn’t love a bowl of well-made sprouts chaat? That thing’s good, real good. Take those sprouts, mix ‘em with some onions, tomatoes, and a little bit of that chaat masala – the tangy stuff – and you got yourself a tasty snack. It ain’t heavy, and it gives you energy, like them commercials say.
Let’s see, what else… Oh yeah, poha. That’s flattened rice, they call it. You cook it up with onions and spices, and it’s real easy to make. Good for breakfast, or a snack, or whenever you’re hungry, really. I make it sometimes when I don’t feel like cookin’ a big meal. It’s light and don’t make you feel all bloated.
Now, they say there’s these 15 healthy Indian snacks, all low in calories and good for ya. I ain’t gonna list ’em all, ain’t nobody got time for that. But the idea is, you eat good, real food, without all that sugar and junk they put in everything these days. You know, back in my day, we didn’t have all that fancy stuff. We ate what we grew, and we were healthy as horses. Course, we also worked hard, so maybe that had somethin’ to do with it too.
Masala somethin’ or other, they got all kinds of it. Just make sure it ain’t too spicy, ’cause that ain’t good for your stomach. And watch out for the oil, you don’t need too much of that. Just a little bit for flavor, that’s all. I always say, a little goes a long way, you know?
And another thing, you gotta remember to drink plenty of water. That’s important, real important. Keeps you hydrated, and it helps you feel full, so you don’t eat so much. Just plain water, that’s all you need. None of that sugary soda pop stuff. That’s just poison, I tell ya.
So there you have it, some healthy Indian snacks for weight loss. It ain’t rocket science, you just gotta eat good, real food, and move your body a little bit. And don’t forget that water! That’s the key, I tell ya, the key to feelin’ good and stayin’ healthy.
And listen, don’t go thinkin’ you gotta starve yourself to lose weight. That ain’t right, and it ain’t healthy. Just eat sensible, eat good food, and you’ll be alright. And if you’re worried about it, go talk to a doctor, not some old woman like me. But I know a thing or two, I tell ya, I’ve been around a long time.
Anyways, I gotta go now, got things to do. You take care of yourself, and eat your veggies! And don’t forget them chickpeas and sprouts. Those are good for you, I’m telling you, good for you.
