Now, if you’re lookin’ to stretch out and feel a good ol’ back bend, the King Cobra Pose might just be what you need. They say it’s a fancy version of the regular Cobra Pose, and it sure looks a bit fancier, too. But don’t let the name scare you; it’s not as tricky as it sounds once you get the hang of it.
First things first, the King Cobra Pose is all about bendin’ your back. You start out by layin’ on your belly on the floor, face down, and your hands by your shoulders, kinda like you’re about to do a push-up. But instead of pushin’ up all the way, you slowly lift your chest and upper body up off the floor. You wanna keep your elbows bent and close to your sides, just like a cobra’s head, all raised and proud. It’s a pose that’s a lot like the real king cobra snake, y’know. When you look at a king cobra, they rise up off the ground with their chest puffed out, and that’s what you want to mimic in this pose. Start with the regular Cobra Pose first, get used to it, and then slowly work your way up to the King Cobra. Ain’t no rush.
